"To the moon and back" birthday party

A combined party was the only way to go since my kiddos birthdays are a month apart. When thinking of the theme I knew I wanted it to be something that represented them and something they truly love. Our family has a "thing" with the moon, nightly we go outside as a family and hunt for the moon and once found we use our telescope to see her beauty up close and personal.

We love you to the moon and back" was the appropriate theme for our two babies that each hold a half of our hearts and now a half of the moon (on our first date my husband looked up at the moon and told me I could have half of his moon but since our kiddos have arrived we have realized we no longer each own half but we have passed that gift onto each of our babies).

The kids tables were wrapped in white paper and stamped with a handmade moon stamp. Above the table hung white fluffy clouds which were made from foam board and stuffing adorned with sparkly moons.

Using a silver, gold, black and white color scheme I created a modern party fit for any moon child. Every child received a homemade tutu, star wand, crown and yarn wrapped tambourine to sing and dance in the moonlight. Temporary moon tattoos finished their party ensemble.

Donuts were ordered to match the color scheme and the cookies and cakes was handmade by my mother.

The highlight of the party was the confetti! I will never again have a party without flutter confetti, it had the guest of all ages squealing with excitement, even my 83 year old grandma was in the middle of the confetti madness.

2.0.1.5. here we come...

2.0.1.4 was a heck of a rollercoaster!
I started the beginning of the year pregnant and ended it with two kiddos!!! Our family grew by one baby boy and a beta fish names "Dorothy". We juggled two kids, two businesses, worked a lot on making our rental house a home, re-vamped our trailer and went on our first camping trips in it!

We made some great memories in 2014, grew older and I pray wiser, had ups and downs as every marriage does but above all we tried to live the life God has planned for us!

2.0.1.5 is MY year!! I keep telling myself it will be my 30th year on this here planet and I want to make it count!! Here are a few "goals" for myself...

-live in the now
-be more adventurous
-meet new friends
-start a new hobby
-be more active
-take more trips
-drink more water
-read the Bible
-have more date nights
-spend less on frivolous items
-quality over quantity
-blog more
-spend more time outside

Christmas 2014

As parents we got to experience this Christmas as parents of two! It was extra special because Zöe was so excited and looked forward to all of the festivities! She lived to turn on the Christmas trees, yell at the sight of Chritsmas lights along rooftops and sang "Jingle Bells" at the top of her lungs.

Her list for Santa stayed short (Elsa toys and Clothes for her baby) which was nice for us, and this year there were no tears when Santa was near! I tried really hard to make this season magical for her. We baked cookies, drove around and looked at lights, watched lots of Christmas movies, read her our Christmas books nightly, played Christmas music but some how I still feel that it went to fast and we didn't "do" enough.

I want my kids to understand the true meaning of Christmas and why we as Christians celebrate that day.

Jesus is the Reason for the Season!!!

Sadly after MANY attempts at the story the Angel in the nativity is still a fairy..... OH MY GOODNESS where have I dropped the ball!!! Truthfully I have dropped it many times but I am doing my best and God knows my heart!

Christmas is a time of re-birth for the soul, it's a time to reflect on the past year and prepare for the new beginning that God has blessed us with!

She.Is.Three

Every time we would tell her "happy birthday she would smile and say in the sweetest of voices, "thank you".

Our baby is THREE!!! How did that happen? We feel like we just swaddled her for the first time.

This girl is all magic. She is kind, charismatic, passionate, funny, motherly and all smiles. She is the one that made us parents. She taught us how to love and be loved. She is innocent. This girl has a heart for others and I pray that never changes! This girl is my best friend and biggest helper!

Zöe James Coté you are our everything and we thank God for the magic you bring into our lives. Thank you for being ours, we love you!
