Growing up I was blessed to be one of those Disneyland regulars, the kid with the pass that seemed to go every other week to see Mickey, watch the parade and have a churro. I also celebrated birthdays 5-15 at Goofy's Kitchen near the Disneyland Hotel ( then my bother was born when I was 7 and we celebrated together). My family would go to Disneyland where we would meet up with family and friends and spend a magical day in the park as it was decorated for Christmas.Grandma would sit for hours on blankets to save us the best place to watch the parade and then we would end the day with fireworks, hot coco, and a ride on the Monorail back to our room at the Disneyland hotel. The next morning we would be joined with our closest friends and family for breakfast at a Disney character filled restaurant crawling with eager kids awaiting their picture with the characters and the chance to add some signatures to heir autograph book! It was a magical time in my life and I would not change those birthdays for anything... Thank you Dad and Mom for the great memories! xoxo
The other day my Mom told me that my dad asked her if she thought we might celebrate Zoe's first birthday at Goofy's kitchen and I thought that would be a perfect way to ring in her first year of life, so let the planning begin!!My parents have not been fans of returning to Disneyland in the last few years, but I believe their interest is being sparked with the idea of seeing the magical world of Walt Disney through the eyes of the favorite Grandchild.
On Tuesday I was blessed to spend the day at the "BIG D" with my cousins ( it had been 7 years and pre marriage and babies since we all were together there) and all their babies it was surreal to see how we have come FULL CIRCLE.Now we are packing the strollers, making the plans, taking the pictures of our babies with Disney characters along with dealing with the lines, temper tantrum, trying to fit in naps, and calming down melt downs all while being at the "Happiest Place on Earth"!
The Manions...
Addie's first trip to Disneyland
Me and My Bestie and our babies (friends for 12 years)
I have years worth of photos in front of this Christmas tree and now its Zoe's turn! Next time will be more fun for her...
She enjoyed this though!
My Mom had one request that we visit the Baby Care Center on Main Street to see the place where her and my Aunt spend many hours breast feeding, changing, and relaxing with their baby girls when visiting the park! It is a awesome room with stalls to privately breast feed in the air conditioning also mini toilets for toddlers and clean changing areas. I know where I will be with Zoe in the future...
It has not changed in 26 years :)
Walt, Thank you for creating a place where so many memories have been made, are being made, and will be made!!!
xoxo- A Fellow Mickey Lover
P.S. Jamie I need pictures of all the cousins that we took!
