Today's Date...

I can remember it like it was yesterday, I was at church camp and I had left my bunk early  to walk to the pay phone to check in with my mom. I could hear the fear in her voice when she answered the phone and informed me about the horrific actions that we taking place, the rest of the day we stood around a car listening to the car radio trying to get some information while in an isolated woodland haven. The counsellors didn't want us to have too much information, probably in fear they would have a group of very scared kids. The next day after my mom picked me up, we stopped to buy every newspaper we could find. I remember looking at those pictures for the first time. I had never seen anything like it before, so much fear, pain, confusion, terror, and questions on the faces of the survivors as the wandered the streets in a thick cloud of smoke looking for survivors and also trying to survive themselves. We asked ourselves why, but as Christians we know the answers and we know where this world is headed, it is a scary thought for our babies, but we can find peace and understanding through the love of Jesus Christ.

He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved.
Psalm 62:6
The Lord is good, a Strength and Stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows  those who take refuge and trust in Him.
 Nahum 1:7
  • God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.

  • Psalm 46:1-3,7

  • ‘Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

  • Isaiah 41:10
